Installation
The next step is to boot the VM from the virtual CD-ROM drive which will partition/format the virtual hard disk and install the OS.
# qemu -cdrom L701_EN_1.0.6.6.iso -hda vm_eee701.disk0 -boot d -m 512
In the VM, when asked to Enter "yes" to continue: type yes and press ENTER. After you press enter go get a cup of tea and wait for the install to finish. When it says "Ready... Press ENTER to reboot"Â press ENTER.
The VM will try to reboot from the CD-ROM and will give you this error message:
Boot from CD-rom failed
FATAL: Could not read the boot disk
That is OK. The main installation is complete and you can now close the Qemu window and go back to the terminal.
